Description
This A4 size book of 43 pages by George Lucas is a reprint of Destination Valley 1956 and 1964 Editions. This book details each type of tram used in Brisbane with information on each type.
About This Book
While helping to make the trams attractive to the traveling public, the continual alteration of basic designs to incorporate various improvements has complicated the layout of this book. Brisbane trams have no alphabetical or numerical classification system, the various classes being distinguished by more or less descriptive titles, or by abbreviations of these titles. We have therefore divided the fleet arbitrarily into major types, each type being subdivided into the official classifications. Nicknames applied by tramwaymen (often better known than the official terms) are given in parenthesis. Where possible, illustrations have been included to show the more obvious variations in design.
NOTE TO THIS REPRINT
While researching, this project, two “Second Editions” (1956 & 1964) have come to light in public libraries. In trying to decide which edition to use here, a compromise has been made by using parts from both. It is hoped that the resulting outcome is a satisfactory one for all readers.
Price includes GST. Item(s) can be pick up from museum site or can be posted within Australia.
